Continue ShoppingWe reimagine traditional Hawaiian Lei using Glass Beads as we blend Japanese and Hawaiian art to make our Forever Lei. Our Hawaiian Glass Beaded Lei are unique handcrafted designs made by weaving 8 strands using Kumihimo, an ancient technique of braiding on a Marudai braiding stand. Inspiration for our designs come from traditional Hawaiian Lei, Forbidden Island Shell necklaces and of course Mother Nature.
Fushcia Red with Transparent Pink Haku Lei Necklace - 22"
This blend of pinks are perfect for our Haku Lei designs! You could wear this proudly to any event - birthday, dinner, graduation, anniversary. The 12" focal section of this lei is made with large transparent Fushcia Pink Rose Petal Beads and throughout the entire length are vibrant cranberry rainbow seed beads with flecks of gold, pink, blue, yellow and more. Truly an amazing blend of colors which is finished with a silver toned acrylic magnetic end clasp to help secure it.
This unique glass beaded braid was inspired by the beautiful floral Haku (also known as Po’o) Lei traditionally worn around the head. These are typically made from flowers leaves, feathers, or natural fibers resulting in vivid color combinations.
Akalei is Hawaiian for "bead reflections" which describes this unique necklace lei design style available only here on Maui. We reinterpret traditional Hawaiian Lei using a vast assortment of glass and natural beads, Japanese silk and synthetic fibers, and a wide variety of braiding techniques and inspirations from across the globe.
This beautiful handcrafted forever lei was made using hundreds of glass Japanese seed beads on multiple cords that are woven together on a wooden marudai stand (in a kongo gumi braid pattern), then finished with a very powerful magnet end cap.
The necklace is woven together using an ancient Japanese braiding technique called Kumihimo, a Japanese word for “gathered threads". This art form goes back hundreds of years as braids were made for use in armor for Japanese samurai warriors. In modern times these braids are designed as belts (obijime) that are worn as a belt with a kimono.
It is my goal to provide you with a long lasting, beautiful piece of jewelry that you will enjoy wearing for years to come. I take great care in the construction of my pieces to ensure just that and won't sell if there is even one mistake. Please note: colors may slightly differ from their appearance on your display, as it depends on your monitor settings.
